About The Host

Justin Ortiz

Founder. Athletic Trainer. Documentarian

By profession, I’m an athletic trainer with a love for hobbies. I get carried away starting a new random project just because it looks interesting – Photography, Rebuilding a bike, or learning about Magic the Gathering, and the list goes on. The Creator’s project started with my love of photography and having the opportunity to speak with fellow photographers that shared my craft. It is an amazing opportunity to share their story.

The Creator’s Mind Story

Love for Photography

In college, I had two friends that were deep into photography and while going through a bad break up they encouraged me to buy my first camera. Since then my real creative journey started. I love bringing that camera with me. Taking pictures of events, chasing sunrises and sunsets. In addition, I met amazing people along the way that were welcoming and helped me grow my skillsets as a photographer. I what it meant to build a community

The Creator’s Mind

I was inspired to create a podcast and wanted to gain insight into other photographers. To understand why they love the craft, what was their creative thought process, and what their story to get them here today. A community slowly grew, where creators could come and share their common passion with others. To say that I created something like that I’ll never forget and always cherish.

Unstable Foundation

My life was not as stable. In the middle of COVID realized something. Throughout my life, I was growing one-level houses, Putting time and energy into multiple houses with poor quality. I wanted to build a metropolitan city, focusing on one skyscraper at a time. and create a multiple collagen city metropole metropolitan city. As I entered my late 20s, I decided to walk away from the podcast and focus my time as an athletic trainer. As I loved everything I did as a podcaster, I equally loved being an athletic trainer. I wanted to focus on one thing and grow rather than be on a treadmill running in place.

Present

Back to What I Love

Throughout my time away, I’m very grateful that I was able to grow in my profession and create some stability under my feet, but in the last three years, I know something was missing. There was always something I was neglecting and made me very sad in my reflection. I love taking pictures but I don’t miss the aspiration of becoming a “professional photographer”. I miss being a documentarian. I miss sharing other people’s stories and having an opportunity to inspire others to chase their dreams. With this return, I would like to bring The Creator’s Mind back and expand this platform to not only photography but people that just love their craft. Please enjoy the stories to come!
